Who This Service Is For

Mobile game development turns a concept or existing build into an iOS or Android game, including gameplay, art, backend integrations, device QA and store preparation.

Startups and publishers

Validate a core loop, plan an MVP or take a funded mobile title through production.

Brands and education teams

Build a branded or educational game around a defined campaign or learning objective.

Studios with an existing game

Add features, optimize a build, integrate services or prepare a new platform release.

Casual to mid-core products

Scope casual, hyper-casual and mid-core mechanics against content, economy and device requirements.

Mobile Game Scope We Can Own

Mobile production is constrained by devices, stores, performance, monetization and retention goals. We plan the build around the actual release path instead of treating mobile as a generic platform.

Prototype or MVP

Core loop, early UI, basic economy, analytics hooks and playable mobile build.

Full Mobile Game

Game design, art, development, backend, QA, store assets and launch support.

Mobile Optimization

Frame rate, memory, device compatibility, loading times and package size improvements.

Post-Launch Updates

Events, content releases, bug fixes, tuning and technical maintenance.

Platforms, Engines and Technical Scope

iOS and Android game development

Define supported OS versions, touch controls, screen layouts, signing and store account responsibilities.

Unity mobile game development

C# gameplay, UI, asset budgets and shared mobile builds, with platform-specific integrations where required.

Unreal mobile feasibility

We assess rendering, package size and target-device performance before recommending Unreal for a mobile project.

Backend and player services

Scope accounts, cloud saves, leaderboards, matchmaking and analytics events with a clear ownership and hosting plan.

Monetization integrations

Ads and in-app purchases can be included in scope. Subscription billing requires a separate feasibility and entitlement review before commitment.

App Store, Google Play and device QA

Agree a matrix of real devices, OS versions, memory tiers and screen sizes; test install, update, resume, network loss and purchase flows. Store approval remains with the platform.

What Happens After You Contact Us

You will know what we need, when confidential materials are protected and what deliverable comes next.

  1. Initial review

We review your brief, build, GDD or roadmap and flag missing scoping inputs.

  2. NDA

NDA comes first when confidential files, concepts or repository access are involved.

  3. Scoping call

We align on platforms, production model, constraints, risks and decision owners.

  4. Estimate

You receive the relevant estimate, discovery proposal or team setup with assumptions stated.

Choose Your Engagement Model

Choose a fixed scope for a bounded release, co-development for a shared production pipeline, or a dedicated team for a changing roadmap.

Fixed-scope project

A defined deliverable, acceptance criteria and milestone budget. Best when requirements are stable; changes are estimated before approval.

Explore fixed-scope project

Co-development

Your team owns product direction and the backlog. We take agreed features or workstreams through your review and build process.

Explore co-development

Dedicated team

Agreed capacity for an evolving roadmap. Role allocation, rates, reporting and notice terms are documented in the proposal.

Mobile Game Development Process

We keep device constraints, store requirements and update rhythm visible from the first estimate.

Device Plan

We define target devices, orientation, performance budget and compatibility needs.

Production Build

Gameplay, UI, backend integrations and mobile-specific systems are delivered in builds.

Mobile QA

Functional, compatibility, regression and release checks across target device classes.

Store Launch

Support for App Store and Google Play build preparation, metadata and release readiness.

Team Composition and Responsibilities

Game designer / product owner

Defines the core loop, feature priorities, content rules and acceptance criteria with your stakeholders.

Engine and backend engineers

Own gameplay, architecture, integrations, builds and technical documentation for the agreed scope.

Artists and technical artists

Produce and integrate assets, animation and UI within the target performance budget.

QA and producer / PM

Maintain the test plan, review builds, track risks and coordinate milestone decisions.

We confirm roles, allocation and availability during scoping. Specialists can join full-time or support the phases that need them.

Estimated Timeline and Budget

A bounded prototype is typically planned at 4–6 weeks; a representative vertical slice at 8–16 weeks; full production at 6–12+ months. These are planning stages, not interchangeable packages. Your feature count, platform mix, content and technical risks determine the estimate.

Prototype

$6,500–$15,000 · 4–6 weeks

One core loop, limited art, basic UI and a playable review build on one target platform.

Vertical slice

$25,000–$50,000 · 8–16 weeks

Representative gameplay, art and systems with focused QA to demonstrate production quality.

Full production

From $50,000 · 6–12+ months

A scope-based roadmap for content, engineering, QA and release; complex projects can exceed these starting points.

Indicative production ranges from our cost guide in USD, not fixed quotes. A vertical slice demonstrates representative quality; it is not automatically a launch-ready MVP. Backend hosting, paid licenses, marketing and ongoing support must be itemized in the estimate.

Security, NDA and IP Ownership

NDA before confidential access

Agree confidentiality terms before sharing private builds, designs or repositories.

Ownership and source delivery

Document custom deliverables, IP transfer terms, editable source files and handover milestones in the SOW. Keep third-party license obligations visible.

Repository and account access

Agree named accounts, minimum necessary permissions, review rules and responsibility for store, cloud and build credentials.

Reviewable handover

Define the source, build instructions, dependency inventory and access transfer checklist before final acceptance.

Mobile Game Development FAQ

Can you build both iOS and Android versions?
Yes. We plan a shared mobile codebase with platform-specific integrations. We recommend the engine after reviewing your target devices, gameplay and visual requirements.
Can you help with mobile monetization integrations?
Yes. We can integrate ads, in-app purchases, analytics and backend events when they are part of the production scope.
Do you test on real devices?
We include compatibility planning and can define a real-device QA matrix before production starts.
What is included in the delivery?
An agreed mobile scope can include a GDD or technical specification, game client, editable assets, backend integrations, analytics events, device QA results, signed release builds and store submission support. The SOW identifies which items are included.
How much does this service cost and how long does it take?
A bounded prototype is typically planned at 4–6 weeks; a representative vertical slice at 8–16 weeks; full production at 6–12+ months. These are planning stages, not interchangeable packages. Your feature count, platform mix, content and technical risks determine the estimate.
Who owns the IP and source code? Can we sign an NDA?
We can sign an NDA before reviewing confidential materials. The statement of work defines ownership and transfer of custom code and assets, repository access and handover milestones. Third-party assets, plugins and engine components retain their own license terms.
Can you support the project after launch?
Maintenance, content updates, regression QA and LiveOps can be scoped separately. The support agreement defines coverage, response targets, responsibilities and budget before launch.
What risks should we resolve before starting?
Resolve low-end device performance, store-account access, monetization SDK dependencies, content volume and backend operating costs before committing to launch. Agree how store feedback and post-launch fixes are handled.
Where can we see published mobile releases?
The Clouds & Sheep 2 and One Hand Clapping case pages linked above include storefront links. Use those records to review platforms and the scope described for each project.
Is an MVP the same as a vertical slice?
No. An MVP needs the minimum complete product and release loop for its target users. A vertical slice demonstrates representative quality in a limited section. We estimate them separately.
